DIS-ABILITY AWARENESS EVENT AT ROYAL CORNWALL SHOWGROUND ON SATURDAY 1ST NOVEMBER

The Cornwall Equality & Diversity Group (CEDG) and public sector service providers in Cornwall put together a major event to highlight the range of services available to disabled people in Cornwall and to recognise the many opportunities for and contributions of people with a disability.

The event was held at the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge on Saturday 1st November from 10am – 4pm and was free to exhibitors and attendees.

Emma-Louise Cook from the Corporate Equality & Cohesion Team at Cornwall County Council says: "This is an opportunity to get key service providers together under one roof. People will be able to ask questions about services and support for people with disabilities and for carers. There will also be a range of community and voluntary sector groups and organisations who will be showcasing their activities, services, products and support networks. One of the features of the day will be the power wheelchair football team challenging Devon & Cornwall Police to a match. Come along, network and have some fun!"

There were over 30 exhibitors at the event to offer advice on a range of subjects. Exhibitors included:
